Who is responsible
kernex.dev is a personal open-source project run by José Hurtado, who is the controller for the personal data described here.
Questions and requests: [email protected].
What this site does not collect
kernex.dev has no forms, no accounts, no newsletter and no comments. You cannot sign up or log in, and the site does not ask for your name or email address. Fonts, images and video are served from kernex.dev itself. If you write to us by email, we receive what you send and use it only to answer you.
Analytics, only with your consent
If you click "Accept analytics" in the banner, the site loads Google Analytics 4 through Google Tag Manager, both provided by Google LLC. Google Analytics sets the cookies _ga and _ga_<ID> to tell visits apart and records which pages you view, how you got here, your approximate location, and your device and browser type. The data is pseudonymous: it is tied to a random identifier, not to your name. Advertising features stay off, because the site tells Google through Consent Mode that ad storage, ad user data and ad personalization are denied.
If you reject, or never answer, nothing from Google loads.
The legal basis is your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it at any time with "cookie settings" in the footer. Choosing "Reject" there stops Google Analytics, deletes its cookies on this site and reloads the page.
Hosting and delivery
The site is served through Cloudflare from a server we manage ourselves. To deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, Cloudflare and our server process your IP address and request data such as the requested URL, time, browser user agent and referrer. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
Cloudflare Web Analytics counts page views and measures page load performance for every visitor. It sets no cookies, uses no local storage and does no fingerprinting, so it runs without the banner, on the same legitimate interest basis.
Your consent choice
Your answer to the banner is stored in your browser's local storage under the key kernex-consent, with the value granted or denied. It never leaves your device. Clearing your browser's site data removes it, and the banner shows again on your next visit.
International transfers
Google and Cloudflare may process data in the United States. These transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and on standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
You can ask for access to your personal data, its rectification or erasure, and object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw consent at any time, without affecting what was processed before. You also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority, for example the one where you live.
To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected].
